Masahiro MV-H 10 inch Chef's Knife

Masahiro MV-H 10 inch Chef's Knife
The most prestigious knife brands in Japan are Masahiro, Masamoto, and Misono. Together they form an elite group known as the three M’s. Masahiro MV-H knives are produced by Masahiro Co., Ltd. in Seki, Japan. Among the numerous ranges of knives produced by Masahiro, the MV-H range is the top of the line. It is indisputably the best range from one of the best factories in Japan. The cutting edge is asymmetrical: 80% on the right side of the blade and 20% on the left side, then polished to a mirror finish. This tapered style edge takes pressure off food for a perfect finished cut. This asymmetrical edge is derived from traditional one-sided Japanese knives which are also 80/20 asymmetrical. The 80 percent side on the MV-H is only ¼” high as compared to the ¾” on a traditional Japanese knife, but the idea is the same. An asymmetrical edge is approximately 35% thinner than a 50/50 straight edge. The Masahiro knives are amazingly light weight, yet perfectly balanced. The handle is a composition plastic handle which is remarkably durable and is much more practical and longer lasting than a laminated wood handle. The composite handle is resistant to bacteria, which keeps the knife very hygienic in daily use. The handles are a three rivet design and use a very wide full tang, almost as wide as the handles themselves. This design provides plenty of room for the rivets and still allows room for the handle to cover the tang, which results in an incredibly smooth rounded handle that feels great in your hand. The MV-H range is made from MBS-26 high carbon stainless steel. This MBS-26 is proprietary to Masahiro; however, it comes from the VG family like VG-10 that the Kasumi Damascus knives first used. The MBS-26 stainless steel is treated by three stages of quenching, sub-zero treating and tempering until the steel reaches a hardness of 58-60 HRC. Masahiro believes this is the ideal hardness the for a kitchen knife with the features of the MV-H.

Masahiro MV-H 10 inch Chef's Knife

  • Thin blade
  • Tapered style edge
  • Perfectly balanced
  • Amazingly light weight
  • Smooth and very comfortable handle

They have already made some models but still continue to upgrade the specs to create another higher version of the existing ones. We are all aware of the latest technologies as applied in the television world. They are the plasma, LCD, and LED but with the 3D technology making its way towards stardom, people are now somehow left confused. They are torn between which one is better. Is it the plasma 3D TV or the LCD 3D TV?

It can't be doubted that these two television products are being pitted against each other. They are put into a battle. Of course, the credits go to the television technology scrutinizers and the 3D aficionados! But, for the regular television buyer who cares less about the hardcore realities of the kind of technology that exists among televisions, then, you may not be able to tell the difference. In fact, you may simply look at their displays in the same way.

Lcd Tv

But then again, taking note of the difference in these TV technologies will be very interesting. They actually have different manners of processing and at the same time displaying the content by means of 3D.

How are they set apart from each other?

First is their processing speed. LCD technology has a processing time of between 120Hz up to 240 Hz, the latter being its so called refresh rate. But critics still notice the side-to-side jerky panning and the motion blurs with the LCD TV.

Plasma technology, on the other hand, is known to be more stable and superior in terms of its processing speed. Its speed is measured according to "sub field motion technology" or the "sub field drive" and drives up to about 600 Hz. Such is a very commendable speed, so to speak!

As related to viewing, LCD 3D televisions are unable to fully deliver the High Definition 1080 resolution. It is only able to go up to 800 pixels of resolution at its processing speed of 240 Hz. But, plasma 3D TV effectively delivers the full 1080 resolution to satisfy the viewing eyes. Nevertheless, the issues about LCD TV's panning and motion blur don't exist with the plasma 3D television. It promises and delivers nothing but superior 3D technology viewing display.

The plasma 3D TV has also gained the thumbs up rating from several television critics thus saying that between the two, it is worth buying and owning! So, what are you waiting for? Whether or not you are a keen TV aficionado, getting the 3D feel of your favorite shows, movies, sports, and games in your own home is surely incomparable!

Plasma 3D TV Versus LCD 3D TV
